Automotive Electronics Engineering

Deliver solutions since 1987.
Generic procedure of Automotive Electronics Design and Testing

  • Use automotive rated parts, design the products to work at automotive environment
  • Design display to have proper viewing angle, font size and brightness for all age groups
  • Use fewer but larger switches and knobs for simple operation and long durability
  • Design package and connector for light weight and to endure the assembly process
  • Place the unit in an accessible location for easy service; but be aware that kids, ESD, heat and moisture kill most parts.
  • Shield high frequency circuit to avoid interference to radio receiver
  • Design circuit board with ESD, Power supply, Heat dissipation, EMI, and Mfg Plant's guidelines
  • Prior to power up: test for Vcc and GND short, test I/O open and short, measure all diodes and capacitors polarity.
  • Measure All IC Vcc pins to Power supply and Ground resistance.
  • Measure the continuity of all I/O's from the connector to the controller IC's.
  • Power the test unit on bench, exercise all modes, and observe the current draw and OSC frequency.
  • Use ATE to characterize the unit, and compare with specifications
  • Run cold, hot, vibration, and all other necessary tests to screen the units
  • Run In-Vehicle test
