model 270HG router: Install ATT/Yahoo setup program from the CD on a
computer that is networked to the router.
After the basic configuration is done, them modify the followings: Logon to the router either from the 2wire program,
or from a web browser with URL 192.168.1.254. Open Home Network configuration screen, then check the
Bridge Network box, and enter the subnetmask e.g. 255.255.255.248. Click Save button at the buttom. Leave the Public Network box unchecked. Leave the
Connection type on the Broadband Link screen unchanged to PPPoE, and assign
IP and DNS IP automatically. The Gateway IP will also be assigned by your ISP
automatically to the router. On the Home Network screen: click Advanced settings,
enter password if asked. On the right of the screen, click Edit Address
Allocation button, and change your server’s IP to DHCP: fixed 99.162.x.x Whicjh is the IP address what your server
will be using. Don’t forget to change the A record in your domain register
site. Open Firewall settings screen, and select the server
name, then add all the needed services to the allowed list, such as web
server, IMAP server, FTP server…etc. Close the Router configuration screen, no need to
restart the router. Make sure the Windows
Server computer firewall setting has
the exceptions for all the needed services. Netgear FVS338NA router: Connect to the router with a web browser by entering URL : internal IP 192.168.1.1 or external address: https://216.117.x.x:8080 not http://, From the Firewall Rule screen: set inbound mapped an internal IP such as, 192.168.1.5 to a Public IP such as, 216.117.210.75 , and set it to static. Configure Server Computer IP to internal IP 192.168.1.5, not the public IP. Routers
that won’t work with Public IP: Linksys BEFSR41 Cable/DSL router, it does not
support Multiple NAT (public IP), neither does a Netgear Prosafe VPN FVS114. |
